Avangaäd (UK - Pop, Rock) Playing to an ever enthusiastic audience Avangaad looked to have the set sown up. Not taking this as a que to rest on their laurels, they proceed to spread some happy vibes with The Thrills style rhythm 'Hope You Can Wait'. The gentle innocence of 'First To Remember' translates well even on a stage the size of some ones kitchen. Elsewhere, 'Look Around You' sounds a little trite by comparison, with a sound borrowed from Stone Roses they unfortunately don't quite make it their own. And brand spanking new single 'Perfect Me' has a, ahem, KT Tunstall feel with its gentle keyboards and swooning vocals that give it an almost hippie vibe - followed by a jangly American Sitcom-esque ending. Later 'King of Kings' has a British feel as quintessential as a cup of Tetley's, with an unexpected Faithless 'Can't Get No Sleep' improv slipped in that gets the crowd going. Keeping the improvised theme they launch into a jam of Zutons rhythms and Jazz house keyboards. Getting back to business on 'The Answer' with shimmery guitars and a catchy chorus that would sit quite comfortably on the new Oasis album.
